Day 2: Workout Postponed

Sometimes You Wake Up Beaten, and You Have to Postpone Things

Just a cover.

Yesterday, I mentioned the heavy, sugar-based meal we had in the evening. Even though we washed it down with bitter tea mixed with lemon, it still took a toll on my body.

Eating Before Bed

When I first started this journey — and I mean the bigger journey, not this newer version — I made it a rule not to eat after sunset. I respected that rule for months. But now that I’m fasting every other day, it’s harder to stick to it. On fasting days, my only meal is after sunset, and on non-fasting days, my body craves food at the same time. Lately, my willpower has been weak, and I’ve been giving in to those cravings.

Last night, I finished the day with an entire baguette filled with olive oil and tomatoes. It was refreshing and delicious, but I don’t think it helped me wake up well today.

Sluggish and Tired

I woke up today an hour late. Even though I turned off the alarm on time, my body wasn’t ready to get up. My eyes were heavy, and I felt exhausted. On top of that, my colon was full of gas, and I had no motivation to get out of bed. So, I went back to sleep until 4:00 AM.

I did what I could but ended up returning to sleep around 7:30 until 10:00. Not great. Food feels like my enemy at this age.

Work

Work is still moving slowly. I’m in debt, around 5K, and I’m still dealing with the same client who seems to change his mind every time he shows my work to his colleagues. While I’m trying to stay humble and optimistic, trusting that God provides our sustenance, I’m starting to feel angry with this client. Anyway, I’ve started working on other projects. We’ll see how things go from here.

I feel like ending this post here. According to the blog stats, nobody is going to read this anyway. It’s just a way for me to start the day with something productive-ish. Writing these lines helps me lift whatever remains of my motivation to keep going. Till the next post.
