From Sluggishness to Strength
I mentioned recently how I have been feeling sluggish. I couldn’t perform well in my daily workouts, nor was I able to stay out of bed after waking up. It was a hard time to live through, especially after quitting my job and spending all my savings. To this day, three and a half months after quitting, I haven’t made a cent. I even sold some stocks I was saving for my son to get through this period. But nothing made it worse than my inability to perform in my workouts and feeling like I was dragging.
The Return
After many tries and changes in workout time, I managed to build momentum these days. My body no longer feels like a sack of potatoes. I am doing at least 60 pushups per day. When I am feeling good, I do more. I am targeting my spine and emphasizing core workouts more these days as well. I noticed that in any life event where physical activity is needed, I can’t perform well. I usually find my arm, chest, and leg strength insufficient. It seems like all my workouts are worthless at times. So, I decided to work on my core more. I don’t have a clear plan at the moment, but I am doing planks, mountain climbers, and similar exercises.
Morning Walk
I started walking around the city early in the morning. The goal was 8k steps a day. However, I found out that the recommended goal is 10k, so I set it as my new goal. I do most of the walking early in the morning, which is around 3k steps as it shows in the Samsung Health app. I use Samsung Health to track my walking. However, I check Google Fit from time to time to see the overall report. Google Fit also tracks my steps but for some reason shows less than Samsung Health.
Fasting
I am still fasting every other day. I also fasted for the last nine days as part of my religious practice. It helped with my overall health, to be honest. I will try to keep this up as long as I live. The coming days are hotter than ever, but I am determined to continue.
This period of sluggishness and financial strain was challenging, but through perseverance and adjustments in my routine, I began to regain my energy and health. Regular workouts, morning walks, and fasting have significantly contributed to my improved well-being. These practices not only helped me physically but also provided a sense of discipline and purpose during tough times.
