It Was All About Light!

I never thought a change of place would throw me into a slump.

I mentioned before how my workout routine and overall daily habits were disrupted, and I was certain that traveling for twenty-five days was the cause. When I came back, I couldn’t get myself to continue as I used to.

It’s a Habit

I’m convinced that this slump I’m experiencing is because I broke my workout habit. I could feel myself gaining weight day by day. I tried working out later in the day, but it never satisfied me. It didn’t meet the needs I felt both physically and mentally. Still, I kept trying for weeks, but nothing felt quite right.

It’s the Environment

Today, something clicked. I saw a thread of beautiful sunlight on the stairs of my home. It was mesmerizing and soothing. In that moment, a flame burst inside me, pushing me to get back to working out early in the morning — just like I used to. The light made me realize I should do my workout on the top floor, where I had always felt the most energized.

So, I grabbed my jump rope and mat from the ground floor and headed up. After wiping down the area for a clean workout, I got started. It felt incredible — fun, full of passion, and exactly what I had been missing. After my workout, I went outside for a walk, letting the sunlight hit my eyes and awaken my nervous system. I had forgotten how much this routine of sunlight and movement had once energized me. I had been working out in the darkness downstairs, and it never felt the same.

I was surprised by the impact of the sun and the environment overall. It’s like hope was falling from the sky above, while below, everything felt like it was dragging me down.
